Enter your birth details for a complete chart: twelve palaces, fourteen main stars, auxiliary stars and the four transformations. The 时辰 is set from true solar time and the timezone actually in force that year.
How to read the chart
The chart is twelve palaces arranged in a ring, each governing one area of life. Whichever stars fall into a palace colour how that area plays out.
| Palace | Governs | Palace | Governs |
|---|---|---|---|
| 命宫 | Character and overall direction | 迁移 | Travel, opportunity abroad |
| 兄弟 | Siblings and peers | 仆役 | Friends and subordinates |
| 夫妻 | Marriage and partner | 官禄 | Career and standing |
| 子女 | Children and creativity | 田宅 | Property and household |
| 财帛 | Money and income | 福德 | Inner life and fortune |
| 疾厄 | Health and constitution | 父母 | Parents and elders |
The fourteen main stars
Whichever main star falls in your 命宫 is usually treated as your defining star. Some charts have none there — 借星安命, a borrowed-star chart. That is a type, not a defect.
Why the 时辰 has to be right
The position of the 命宫 is set by your birth month and your 时辰 together. Get the 时辰 wrong by one and the 命宫 moves to a different palace, the main star changes with it, and the whole reading is different.
And the 时辰 comes from true solar time, not clock time. About a quarter of people born in Peninsular Malaysia or Singapore before 1982 end up with the wrong main star because of it. How to check your own.
