Yang Metal Tiger (Geng Yin, 庚寅) day pillar

Your day pillar is the pair of characters for the day you were born. The top one, the stem, is your day master — you. The bottom one, the branch, is what it sits on. The sixty pillars come round in turn, one a day, so about one person in sixty was born on a Geng Yin day.

- Yang Wood (Jia, 甲), the main one — Indirect Wealth (Pian Cai, 偏财). What you control, same polarity. Wealth that comes sideways rather than by salary — the uneven kind.
- Yang Fire (Bing, 丙) — Seven Killings (Qi Sha, 七杀). What controls you, same polarity. Pressure with nothing softening it: demand, risk, and whatever you answer to whether you chose it or not.

Autumn, the self strong, and it must run a southern period, noble. Winter, self and ghost both weak, ordinary. Pure Horse (午) in year and month, a position reaching duke or minister. Water Rat (壬子), the Eating God (食) in front and the Killings behind following; after the one yang is born, the Yang Fire (丙) has qi — noble to the highest of ministers. It dislikes a Water Rooster (癸酉) month, ruin, ill; a Metal Pig (辛亥) month, spilt blood; a Wood Rat (甲子) month, early death.

Ox hour 01:00–03:00 · Yin Fire Ox (Ding Chou, 丁丑)
first in the lists. Tiger (寅), Rabbit (卯), Horse (午), Goat (未) and Pig (亥) months, a pure and fine high destiny. Running Horse and Goat periods, conspicuously noble. Carrying Fire and Earth in year or month, noble.

Tiger hour 03:00–05:00 · Yang Earth Tiger (Wu Yin, 戊寅)
where the month carries a Fire frame or it is born in autumn, running a period where the self is strong, noble. A Metal Rat (庚子) month, it dies of itself. Seeing Metal Rooster (辛酉) in the year, poor, short-lived and crippled. The self declining and seeing Yang Fire (丙) too strong is read the same way.

Rabbit hour 05:00–07:00 · Yin Earth Rabbit (Ji Mao, 己卯)
Pig (亥) and Rabbit (卯) months, the wealth-star pattern, glory early and retiring early. Horse (午) and Dog (戌), the triad binding an officer frame, with Metal and Water showing at the stems, running a northwestern period, favourable.

Dragon hour 07:00–09:00 · Yang Metal Dragon (Geng Chen, 庚辰)
dragon and tiger hold the gate. Where year and month carry Fire and Earth, noble. Pure Metal Dragon (庚辰), king or marquis; otherwise extremely ill. If year and month meet Wood and Fire and the period runs there again, the highest grade.

Snake hour 09:00–11:00 · Yin Metal Snake (Xin Si, 辛巳)
Snake (巳), Rooster (酉) and Ox (丑) months, the self strong, noble. A month where the Killings (煞) is strong and the self weak, poor. Pure Monkey (申) in year and month, greatly noble and long-lasting. A Pig (亥) month with a southeastern period, it governs authority and rank.
巳酉丑月，身旺，贵。煞旺身弱月，贫。纯申年月，大贵悠久。亥月，东南运、主有权贵。
Horse hour 11:00–13:00 · Yang Water Horse (Ren Wu, 壬午)
Dragon (辰), Dog (戌), Ox (丑), Goat (未), Snake (巳), Monkey (申) and Rooster (酉) months, the self strong, all noble. Tiger (寅) and Horse (午), Fire strong, and meeting it again in the period qi, the life short; otherwise crippled.

Goat hour 13:00–15:00 · Yin Water Goat (Gui Wei, 癸未)
