Yin Metal Goat (Xin Wei, 辛未) day pillar

Your day pillar is the pair of characters for the day you were born. The top one, the stem, is your day master — you. The bottom one, the branch, is what it sits on. The sixty pillars come round in turn, one a day, so about one person in sixty was born on a Xin Wei day.

- Yin Earth (Ji, 己), the main one — Indirect Resource (Pian Yin, 偏印). What produces you, same polarity. Support of an indirect kind — the tradition treats it as nourishment that can also crowd out the Eating God (食神).
- Yin Fire (Ding, 丁) — Seven Killings (Qi Sha, 七杀). What controls you, same polarity. Pressure with nothing softening it: demand, risk, and whatever you answer to whether you chose it or not.
- Yin Wood (Yi, 乙) — Indirect Wealth (Pian Cai, 偏财). What you control, same polarity. Wealth that comes sideways rather than by salary — the uneven kind.

Monkey hour 15:00–17:00 · Yang Fire Monkey (Bing Shen, 丙申)
through the gate of a noble one he gets wealth. Spring, pure and noble. Summer ordinary. Autumn wealthy. Winter, greatly noble and the life short. The Shen Bai Jing (神白经) says: Metal and Water awkwardly bound, and transforming to Water besides, govern nobility.
因贵人门下得富。春，清贵。夏，平常。秋，富。冬，大贵寿促。《神白经》云：金水乖合，又化水，主贵。
Rooster hour 17:00–19:00 · Yin Fire Rooster (Ding You, 丁酉)
if not noble then wealthy. Where the month carries Metal qi with no Yang Fire (丙) or Yin Fire (丁) character, running a southern period, noble.
不贵则富。月通金气，无丙丁字，行南运，贵。
Dog hour 19:00–21:00 · Yang Earth Dog (Wu Xu, 戊戌)
cruel, evil, fierce and violent, grief over wife and children. Tiger (寅), Snake (巳), Horse (午), Dog (戌) and Ox (丑) months, noble. Monkey (申), Rat (子), Dragon (辰) and Pig (亥), Metal and Water clear and fine, more noble still. One account says it harms the parents, the self strong, wealthy in middle age.
