The Disruptor (Po Jun, 破军) star
Spends and wears down. Restless, and not easy to get along with.
One of the fourteen main stars of Purple Star Astrology (Zi Wei Dou Shu, 紫微斗数). They are not stars in the sky: they are fourteen named markers that your birth date and hour place around a ring of twelve palaces, and each palace stands for one part of life. What this star means depends on which palace it lands in.
When this site works out a chart’s type, it counts this star with the Sha Po Lang family (杀破狼): The Disruptor, built for change — thrives in motion, restless when static.
What the classic Zi Wei Dou Shu Quan Shu (紫微斗数全书) says it is
Water, the seventh star of the northern dipper, the god in charge of Spouse, Children and Servants. At Rat (子) or Horse (午) it is well placed. In heaven it is the killing qi; in the reckoning it is the wasting star, and hence its transformed nature is called the Drain (耗), waste. It makes a person violent, ill and cunning, sly in nature, agreeing with few, and quick to cost others. It does not complete another's good and readily helps another's ill. It looks on kin as enemies and holds no kindness or justice among its own flesh — only those born under the six Yin Water years (六癸) or the six Yang Wood years (六甲) fit the pattern and mean wealth and rank. Badly placed with malefics breaking in, a craft and infirmity, the ancestral estate not kept, and a religious life suits. This star with the Emperor star (紫微) loses its authority; meeting the Treasury (天府) it turns false and scheming; meeting the Emperor star and the Wolf (贪狼), thieving and pilfering. Sharing a degree with the Mystic (廉贞), the Flare (火星) or the Ember (铃星), official trouble certainly rises; with the Voice (巨门), quarrelling and contention; with the Punisher (天刑) or the Trouble transformation (化忌), infirmity for a lifetime. With the Iron (武曲) in the Wealth seat, it topples east and fails west; with a literary star holding the Self, a poor scholar all his life. Meeting the ill stars in a faction it breaks and ruins; badly placed, its trouble is not light. Only the Elder (天梁) can hold its ill down, and only heavenly prosperity (天禄) can dissolve its wildness. Meeting the year's malefics together, the household estate is emptied. With the Artist (文曲) entering a watery region, infirmity and leaving home. Meeting the Scholar (文昌) in the Zhen, the east (震) palace and meeting benefics, it may be honour. Where it sits in the Self at Rat or Horse, with the Wolf and the General (七杀) shining in trine, its authority shakes the four quarters; or sharing Snake (巳) with the Iron and the Wolf shining in, it too sits in the high offices — but see what the ill stars are. Those born under Yang Wood (甲) or Yin Water (癸) fit the pattern, though even to old age it is not entirely fine. In the Self badly placed, the ancestral line is left; in Siblings, kin who do not align; in Spouse, not upright, and a marriage that advances and retreats; in Children, lost first and made after; in Wealth, like hot water poured on snow; in Health, a wasting illness; in Travel, running about without force; in Servants, slander and running away; in Career, honest poverty; in Property badly placed, the ancestral foundation scattered; in Wellbeing, much calamity; in Parents, a scar, and harm.
One further clause here fixes a woman’s outcome by her sex. It is left out, in the Chinese as well as the English, as everywhere on this site.
The Disruptor in each of the twelve palaces
Volume two of the classic goes palace by palace and says what each star does there. Each line below is its sentence for this star, translated. “Well placed” and “badly placed” refer to the star’s brightness in that branch.
Self palace (Ming Gong,
who you are at core
With the Flare (火星) or the Ember (铃星) sharing the palace, a hard heart. Well placed with the General (七杀) and the Wolf (贪狼), a hero not to be withstood — the text names Guan Yu (关羽) — and for an ordinary person, land and comfort. At Rat (子) or Horse (午) with the Scholar (文昌) and the two Aides (左右) both, ample means and open-handed, and office plainly held. The Fortune transformation (化禄), the Merit transformation (化科) or the Power transformation (化权) on it is unusually good. Badly placed with malefics added, the ancestral line broken and a life far from home. Not welcome in the body palace: with the Mystic (廉贞), the Flare, the Blade (擎羊) and the Millstone (陀罗) it turns ill — if not injury, then a short life. At Rat or Horse in a woman's chart it is well placed: blessing and long life, able, out of the common run, good for husband and children.

That needs your birth hour and place. The chart corrects the hour to true solar time, using the timezone actually in force in your birth year.
