Yang Earth (Wu, 戊) day master: The Mountain

In the 1st and 2nd months, even with Yang Wood (甲) and Yin Water (癸) present, without Yang Fire (丙) to clear the cold it is as if things were born and did not grow — so without Yang Fire, wealth and rank come hard. With Yang Fire but no Yang Wood or Yin Water it is called a spring drought, things born and then blighted; without Yang Wood and Yin Water the life is diligent and hard and the work comes to nothing. One Yang Fire with Yang Wood and long-standing Yin Water means smooth first and blocked after. If the branches form a Fire frame with no Yang Water (壬) or Yin Water, a poor and solitary religious life. Yin Water showing means rank, Yang Water showing wealth.

正二月即有甲癸，若無丙除寒，如萬物生而不長，故無丙者，富貴艱辛，或有丙無甲癸者，名日春旱，如萬物生而厄，無甲癸者，一生勤苦，勞而無功，或一丙火，有甲久癸，先泰後否，或支成火局，不見壬癸，僧道孤貧，癸透者貴，壬透者富。

Earth in the 3rd month holds the season. With no Yang Fire (丙), Yang Wood (甲) or Yin Water (癸) at all, foolish and low. A Yin Water showing means the examinations; two Yin Water showing, a licentiate; Yang Wood and Yin Water both hidden, wealth only, and with Yin Water a name by an irregular road. Much Yang Fire and no Yin Water is a dry field with no water, where no seed can be sown — the old grain gone and the new not yet in — and this makes a chart rich first and honoured after.

三月戊土司令，不見丙甲癸者，愚而且賤，毋癸透者、科甲，兩癸透者、生員，甲癸俱藏者，只可云富，有癸異途。

Earth in the 4th month: the warm force rises, the cold is stored inside, solid without and hollow within. It does not fear the Fire's heat, but without the yang urging things on nothing grows. So use Yang Wood (甲) first to break the Earth up, then take Yang Fire (丙) and Yin Water (癸) in support. Yang Fire showing with Yang Wood out is timber for the halls of state; Yang Fire and Yin Water both showing, a scholar of the examinations. Even one of them showing, with the others well placed in the branches, is not a commoner.

四月戊土，陽氣發升，寒氣內藏，外實內虛，不畏火炎，無陽氣相催，萬物不長，故先用甲疏劈，次取丙癸為佐。

Earth in the 5th month: midsummer, the Fire blazing. Look to Yang Water (壬) first, then take Yang Wood (甲), with Yang Fire (丙) in measured amounts; Yin Water (癸) has little force here.

五月戊土，仲夏火炎，先看壬水，次取甲木，丙火酌用，用癸力微。

Earth in the 6th month meets the summer drought. Look to Yin Water (癸) first, then use Yang Fire (丙) and Yang Wood (甲). Yin Water and Yang Fire both showing means a person of the examinations; Yin Water without Yang Fire, with a Yang Wood, allows a licentiate, and without Yang Wood a modest fortune. Yang Fire without Yin Water means learning borrowed rather than owned, with food and clothing enough. With neither Yin Water nor Yang Fire, an ordinary person; and with no Yang Wood either, low.

六月戊土，遇夏乾枯，先看癸水，次用丙火甲木。

Earth in the 7th month: the warm force draws inward and the cold comes out. Yang Fire (丙) first, Yin Water (癸) after, Yang Wood (甲) next. All three showing means wealth and rank of the first order; Yin Water hidden with Yang Fire showing is more than a licentiate. Without Yang Fire, Yin Water and Yang Wood showing makes a person of clean taste and a household of means. With none of the three, a low chart.

七月戊土，陽氣漸入，寒氣漸出，先丙後癸，甲木次之。

Earth in the 8th month: Metal drains it and the self is cold, so it leans on Yang Fire (丙) for warmth and welcomes Water to moisten it. Yang Fire first, Yin Water (癸) after; no Wood is needed to break the Earth. Both showing means a person of the examinations; Yang Fire showing with Yin Water hidden allows entry to the school; Yin Water showing with Yang Fire hidden, office obtained by payment. Yang Fire hidden and no Yin Water at all, however many, is an ordinary person; neither Yin Water nor Yang Fire, a life adrift.

八月戊土，金洩身寒，賴丙照暖，喜水滋潤，先丙後癸，不必木疏。

Earth in the 9th month holds power, and Yang Fire (丙) alone should not be relied on. Look to Yang Wood (甲) first, then take Yin Water (癸) — but avoid the joining transformations. Where Metal appears, use Yin Water first and Yang Fire after; matched across stems and branches this becomes living Earth, and the road ahead opens. Yang Fire without Yin Water, and no Yang Wood showing, means small means; without Yin Water and Yang Fire but with Yang Wood, food and clothing and no more.

九月戊土當權，不可專用丙，先看甲木，次取癸水，郤忌化合，見金先用癸水，後取丙火，配合支干，方成有生之土，定發雲程。

Earth in the 10th month: the small yang of the season, the warm force just showing. Use Yang Wood (甲) first, then take Yang Fire (丙) — without Yang Wood the Earth has no life in it, without Yang Fire no warmth, and how then would anything grow. Yang Wood and Yang Fire both showing means wealth and rank.

十月戊土，時值小陽，陽氣略出，先用甲木，次取丙火，非甲，土不靈，非丙，土不暖，安能發生萬物，甲丙兩出，富貴中人。

A Yang Earth (戊) day born at the Water Rat (壬子) hour: where the month runs through the four seasonal months, wealth in the grave; if the self binds and transforms to true Fire, a country where Water is strong in the period is to be feared for eye calamity. For a Yang Earth day at the Water Rat hour: wife and wealth both strong. Yang Earth takes Yang Water (壬) as wife and wealth; upon Rat (子) the Yang Water is strong and the Yang Earth has no qi. Born in Dragon (辰), Dog (戌), Ox (丑) or Goat (未) months and not transforming, it gets wealth. If it binds Yin Water (癸) and transforms, falling into a country where Water is strong, the Fire does not show its light, what it does comes to nothing, empty and unsubstantial, and it will suffer eye calamity. Carrying a strong month qi, noble. Earth Rat (戊子) day at the Water Rat hour: the wealth-star pattern. Tiger (寅) and Rabbit (卯) months, the prosperity star (禄) and horse attending the origin, conspicuously noble. Rooster (酉), Pig (亥) and Ox in year or month with a northwestern period, gold and purple and the censorate. It dislikes a Wood Rabbit (乙卯) year, punishment; a Water Snake (癸巳) month, punishment in the midst of strength; a Fire Horse (丙午) month, taking punishment in the midst of strength. Earth Tiger (戊寅) day at the Water Rat hour: a Rabbit month, the Direct Officer (正官) pattern, noble. Summer awkward, autumn little smooth. Ox and Rooster in year or month, favourable. It dislikes an Earth Snake (己巳) month, punishment; an Earth Pig (己亥) month, cruel punishment. Earth Dragon (戊辰) day at the Water Rat hour: spring, wealth and officer strong, noble. Summer awkward. Autumn little smooth. Winter, the wealth strong, running a southwestern period, fifth or sixth grade. It dislikes a Metal Dragon (庚辰) month, self-punishment and ill; a Metal Snake (辛巳) month, the road cut and cruel punishment; a Wood Ox (乙丑) month, ruin and ill. Earth Horse (戊午) day at the Water Rat hour: hour and day clash together — grief over wife and children. Snake (巳) and Horse (午) in year or month, the censorate. Tiger, Rabbit and Pig, the six ministers. A Monkey (申) month running Wood and Fire periods, marquis or earl. It dislikes a Fire Horse month, the body not whole; Water Pig (癸亥), self-punishment and early death. Where Rat and Horse in year and month are unmixed, and Ox and Dog punish besides, both govern great nobility. Earth Monkey (戊申) day at the Water Rat hour: high; stuck first and strong after. Rat and Rooster in year or month, the Seven Killings (偏官) at the hour, noble. Snake, Horse, Goat and Dog, the self with something to check and transform it, and wealth used besides — all read as favourable. Monkey and Rooster, Eating God (食) and Hurting Officer (伤) producing wealth, and with Yang Wood (甲) or Yin Wood (乙) showing at the stems, wealth and rank both complete. It dislikes an Earth Snake month, punishment and harm; a Water Horse (壬午) month, early death and injury; a Water Pig month, solitude and poverty. Earth Dog (戊戌) day at the Water Rat hour: Tiger, Snake and Horse in year or month, putting away wealth and keeping the Resource (印) — third or fourth grade. The classic says: able to see right and forget profit, taking the Resource and putting aside wealth is this. Rat and Rooster, fifth grade, the academy. Pure Rooster with Water and Wood periods, the jade hall, extremely noble. It dislikes an Earth Horse month, the branded face and an early death; a Metal Rabbit (辛卯) month, ruin and cruel punishment; a Water Ox (癸丑) month, taking punishment; a Metal Horse (庚午) month, poor and blind. Verse: a Yang Earth day is glad to meet the Water Rat hour — the self strong and the officer strong exactly suit each other; the period running against it into ground of rest and imprisonment, glory and the prosperity star rush about and do as they will. Verse: a Yang Earth day meeting Water Rat at the hour — this is wealth strong producing the officer. Transformed into Yin Fire (丁), the Yin Fire goes on and on, and lets its son run east and west. In a period where Wood is strong it comes out, the writing fine and handsome in many ways. A person of broad reading who takes his pleasure — wealth, rank and resources by the ten thousand strings.

A Yang Earth day born at the Water Ox (癸丑) hour: it goes off and follows the wife and makes the match; the person's nature is deft and very clever, and above all fond of gallantry, flowers and wine. For a Yang Earth day at the Water Ox hour: Yang Earth takes Yin Water (癸) as wife and wealth, and within Ox (丑) there is the remaining qi of Yin Water following the wealth, the Yin Water strong. If it carries the month qi and transforms to true Fire, the person is clever; if it carries Earth qi, it governs wealth and rank and holding authority. A summer month running an eastern period, conspicuously noble. Earth Rat (戊子) day at the Water Ox hour: born in a Yang Earth month, mixed-qi Direct Resource (印绶), and with Yang Fire (丙) or Yin Fire (丁) showing at the stems, no pattern need be looked for — it governs wealth and rank. If year and month are Horse (午) and Rooster (酉) with Yang Metal (庚) and Yin Wood (乙) showing at the stems, the Yin Wood binds the Yang Metal and the Yang Earth binds the Yin Water; Yang Earth feeds on Yang Metal, the Yang Metal strong at Rooster and noble at Ox; Yin Water is wealth and Yin Wood the officer, and the Resource (印) is rooted at Horse — the stems and branches of day and hour are the bound virtue of heaven and earth, nobility and the prosperity star (禄) crossing each other; and joined with the whorl (罗文) nobility besides, whoever meets it governs the highest grade. Earth Tiger (戊寅) day at the Water Ox hour: Tiger (寅), Snake (巳), Horse, Goat (未) and Dog (戌) months, transforming to Fire, favourable. Autumn and winter ordinary. Earth Dragon (戊辰) day at the Water Ox hour: Tiger, Snake, Horse, Goat and Dog months, transforming to Fire and getting its ground; Monkey (申), Rat (子) and Dragon (辰) as a wealth frame also favourable. Where the stems and branches of year and month are pure Earth and the four vaults are complete, noble. Earth Horse (戊午) day at the Water Ox hour: Tiger, Dog, Goat and Horse in year or month, clever, outstanding, with awe and authority. Earth Monkey (戊申) day at the Water Ox hour: born in Dragon, Dog, Ox, Goat or Horse months, wealth and rank, fond of wine and women. Summer with an eastern period, noble. Autumn and winter, wealth strong producing the officer; if the self declines, if not an early death then poverty. Earth Dog (戊戌) day at the Water Ox hour: born in summer with an eastern period, noble. Dragon, Dog, Ox and Goat months, wealth and rank and holding authority, fond of flowers, wine and gallantry. Verse: binding and transforming into the southern Li, the south (离) frame, the gate of wealth opens with sun and moon; with no clash or breaking in the pillars, blessing and the prosperity star come of themselves. Verse: at the Ox hour Yang Earth and Yin Water bind and transform, the cabinet — it is gladdest of punishment and clash and dislikes being locked shut; when the period suddenly meets the key that opens it, the household flourishes and makes its living. Verse: a Yang Earth day meeting Water Ox at the hour — transformed into blazing Fire that gives light. When the period runs to Earth and Water they do not answer; when the period reaches southeast it flourishes. Parted from the ancestral estate, unsettled, he buys fields and farms through the wife. Otherwise flesh and blood suffer punishment and injury — and the evening scene is glorious and strong.

A Yang Earth (戊) day born at the Wood Tiger (甲寅) hour: in illness it is injured by the ghost besides; if the month qi runs through and the self is strong, favourable, but a day stem declining and weak is a person who dies young. For a Yang Earth day at the Wood Tiger hour: the self declining and the ghost strong. Within Tiger (寅) the Yang Wood (甲) has its Established Prosperity (建禄) and the Yang Fire (丙) produces the self. If it carries a month where the self is strong, with something to lean on and something to rescue it, the ghost turns into the officer and it governs wealth and rank; the reverse of this is poor and short-lived, and running a period where the self is strong is also favourable. Earth Rat (戊子) day at the Wood Tiger hour: broken first and brought out after, noble. Born in a Goat (未) month with something at the stems to check it, noble. A Horse (午) month with nothing to check it, clever and close to the noble. Dragon (辰), Dog (戌) and Ox (丑), the self strong; Pig (亥) and Rabbit (卯), the Killings (煞) strong — but with a Resource (印) and something to check it, noble. Pure Wood Ox (乙丑) in year and month, gold and purple. Earth Tiger (戊寅) day at the Wood Tiger hour: the self strong, flesh and blood not living together. A Horse month, the blade and Resource carrying the Killings; a Rat (子) month, Direct Wealth (正财) siding with the Killings, with something showing at the stems to check it; Pig, Rabbit and Goat, pure Killings with the self soft, and the blade showing at the stems, running a southwestern period — military authority over ten thousand miles; Snake (巳), Ox and Dog in year or month, the self strong and a match for the Killings; Rooster (酉), Ox and Monkey (申), checking the Killings — all govern great nobility. Earth Dragon (戊辰) day at the Wood Tiger hour: Seven Killings (偏官) at the hour, Direct Resource (印绶) carrying the Killings; where the pillars hold Yang Metal (庚) or Yin Metal (辛) to check it, noble. Dragon, Dog, Ox and Goat with the self strong, also noble. Earth Horse (戊午) day at the Wood Tiger hour: the day is the Yang Blade (羊刃) and the hour the Seven Killings — the blade binding the Killings, noble. Snake, Rooster and Ox months, the pen and knife startle people; the checking should not be carried too far. Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Dog and Rat in year or month with something at the stems to check it — all govern great nobility. Earth Monkey (戊申) day at the Wood Tiger hour: Monkey and Rooster, Hurting Officer (伤官) carrying the Killings, and where Earth (土) is thick, noble. Ox and Rabbit in year or month, putting away the Killings and keeping the officer, greatly noble; it should run Metal and Fire periods, and the position reaches the highest of ministers. Earth Dog (戊戌) day at the Wood Tiger hour: Dragon, Dog, Ox and Goat months running Water and Wood periods, third grade. Ox and Goat in year or month running Metal and Water periods, wealth and rank both complete. Monkey and Rat, or Rooster and Rat, in year or month, both noble, and the children flourish too. Snake and Horse, noble, with injury to the wife and harm to the children. Verse: the Tiger hour on a Yang Earth day is of itself no common thing — outstanding, above the crowd, out of the world; it certainly makes a general or minister come from a cold gate, and if it meets the self weak, it is hardship. Verse: a Yang Earth day at the Wood Tiger hour, upright — the self strong, flower and tree meeting spring. The Seven Killings met fears punishment and clash; the borrowed Killings turns instead into an authority Resource. The Killings strong and the self declining lessens the blessing; the rank of siblings and both parents hard to lean on. If it runs a Resource period, blessing comes in pairs, and it certainly governs talent and name smooth at the outset.

A Yang Earth (戊) day born at the Wood Rabbit (乙卯) hour: Hurting Officer (伤官) in the four pillars is not seen as good; where Yin Metal (辛) and Monkey (申) are not met and there is no clash or harm, take it that the name and merit run to old age. For a Yang Earth day at the Wood Rabbit hour: the officer strong and the self weak. Yang Earth uses Yin Wood (乙) as its officer; upon Rabbit (卯) the Yin Wood is strong and the Yang Earth dead. If there is nothing to lean on and the month qi does not run through, the self weak turns the officer into a ghost, and though noble the life is short. If the month qi runs through, the self strong with something to lean on, and the pillars show no Monkey, Rooster (酉), Yin Metal, Yang Metal (庚) or Hurting Officer Yang Wood (甲) Wood to break the destiny, conspicuously noble. Earth Rat (戊子) day at the Wood Rabbit hour: hour and day punish each other, injury to the wife and harm to the children; he makes and stands by himself. Meeting it again in year or month, it governs the censorate. Horse (午) and Rooster, the four cardinals complete, greatly noble. Earth Tiger (戊寅) day at the Wood Rabbit hour: Pig (亥) and Rat (子) in year or month, the wife worthy and the children filial, noble. Rabbit and Dragon (辰) pure, favourable; Tiger (寅) and Snake (巳) also favourable. Earth Dragon (戊辰) day at the Wood Rabbit hour: the self solitary, noble. Snake and Rabbit in year or month, the self strong and the officer strong, glory to the self and conspicuousness to the ancestors, the children filial and the wife worthy. Earth Horse (戊午) day at the Wood Rabbit hour: the blade pattern; Direct Officer (正官) taking the blade away is blessing. Rat, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Horse, Goat (未), Monkey and Pig in year or month all govern conspicuous nobility. Earth Monkey (戊申) day at the Wood Rabbit hour: in middle age the ancestral estate is broken. Spring noble. Summer close to the noble. Autumn solitary and bitter. Winter, wealth and rank both complete. A Snake month with Wood and Fire periods, fifth grade and above. Earth Dog (戊戌) day at the Wood Rabbit hour: spring, the officer strong. Summer, officer and Resource (印) both complete, conspicuously noble. Autumn middling. Winter noble. Dog (戌) and Ox (丑) in year or month, a regional post of the third grade. A Dog month running an eastern period, solitary and poor. Verse: at the hour it produces the officer and sits on the prosperity star (禄) and authority — a Yang Earth day meeting it is no light matter; the self strong with something to lean on makes nobility at last, and checking and binding the officer star makes nobility hard. For a Yang Earth day at the Metal Rooster hour: the self spoiled and Hurting Officer. Yang Earth uses Yin Wood (乙) as its officer and Yin Metal (辛) as Hurting Officer; upon Rooster (酉) the Yin Metal is strong and the Yang Earth at its bathing — the person's nature proud and his conduct low. With Yin Wood showing at the stems of year or month, calamity a hundredfold; and if there is a Yin Wood and it runs an officer-strong period besides, punishment and harm, unfavourable. If it carries a month of living qi and runs a northern period, if not noble then wealthy. Earth Rat (戊子) day at the Metal Rooster hour: Snake (巳), Rooster and Ox (丑) months, Hurting Officer injured to the full; running a period where wealth is strong, a military office and the censorate. Earth Tiger (戊寅) day at the Metal Rooster hour: carrying a month of Earth qi and running a northwestern period, if not noble then still wealthy. Earth Dragon (戊辰) day at the Metal Rooster hour: Ox and Goat (未) in year or month with wealth showing at the stems, it governs nobility. If a Water Snake (癸巳) month, the academy and the hall of learning hold the month command, and it governs high standing in letters and the examinations; in a Tiger (寅), Monkey (申), Snake or Pig (亥) year the hour offends the Scattering (狼藉) spirit, and there is no fruit in the end. Earth Horse (戊午) day at the Metal Rooster hour: spring and summer ordinary. Autumn, Hurting Officer injured to the full, authority and rank with the life short. Winter, wife and children hard to keep. Earth Monkey (戊申) day at the Metal Rooster hour: Dog (戌), Pig, Ox and Rat (子) in year or month, authority and rank. Earth Dog (戊戌) day at the Metal Rooster hour: Dragon (辰), Dog, Ox and Goat months, noble. The ancients held that Water and Earth are spoiled at Rooster, and so there is mostly no fruit in the end — either the name and merit retire early, or the children do not come to anything. Looking at the six days above, none is a destiny of high office: it may be seen that meeting Hurting Officer at the hour is unfavourable. Verse: a Yang Earth day meeting Yin Metal is called stripping the officer, and meeting it at the hour is worse to bear; if the officer star is met it produces a strange calamity, and it is feared besides that he carries illness and the children are not whole. Verse: a Yang Earth day with Metal Rooster at the hour — Hurting Officer is not glad of the officer star. A country of wealth in the period ground begins to run through; the temper and feeling unsettled. With nothing broken it is hard to inherit the ancestral estate; the rank of siblings each fly their own way. The wife taken twice and the children late, then at peace — a destiny hard first and easy after.

六戊日生时辛酉，伤官暴败怕时逢；柱中纵有财星助，有子不成命早终。戊日辛酉时，身败伤官，戊以乙为官，辛为伤官，酉上辛金旺，戊土沐浴，为人性傲行卑。年月透乙，为祸百端；如有乙再行官旺运，刑害不吉。若通生气月，行北运，不贵即富。戊子日辛酉时，巳酉丑月，伤官伤尽，行财旺运，武职风宪。戊寅日辛酉时，通土气月，行西北运，不贵亦富。戊辰日辛酉时，丑未年月，干透财，主贵。若癸巳月，词馆学堂居提纲，主文学高科，寅申巳亥年，则时犯狼藉煞，晚无结果。戊午日辛酉时，春夏平常。秋，伤官伤尽，权贵寿促。冬，难为妻子。戊申日辛酉时，戌亥丑子年月，权贵。戊戌日辛酉时，辰戌丑未月，贵。古人以水土败在酉，所以多无结果，或功名早退，或子息不成。观上六日无大官命，可见伤官时遇不吉。戊日逢辛号剥官，时上遇之尤堪嫌；官星若遇生奇祸，尤恐带疾子不全。戊日时临辛酉，伤官不喜官星。财乡运地始亨通，性格心情不定。无破难招祖业，雁侣各自飞腾。妻重子晚始安宁，先难后易之命。

A Yang Earth (戊) day born at the Water Dog (壬戌) hour: the self dwells in its proper position and sees the heavenly wealth; if born in an autumn month running through with the self strong, a household of ten thousand strings need not be guessed at. For a Yang Earth day at the Water Dog hour: meeting wealth in its sole position. Yang Earth takes Yang Water (壬) as wealth, and upon Dog (戌) the Water is at its Capping (冠带). In spring and summer the Yang Water has no qi and money is not strong; in winter it is greatly strong, but the Earth is empty and the self weak and cannot drive it. Only after autumn is the Yang Earth firm and thick, wealth and destiny have qi, and there is wealth and rank. Earth Rat (戊子) day at the Water Dog hour: Rooster (酉), Monkey (申) and Dog months, the household's wealth fills the eye. Dragon (辰) and Ox (丑) clashing and punishing open the vault — both favourable. Earth Tiger (戊寅) day at the Water Dog hour: Tiger (寅), Horse (午), Dog and Dragon in year or month with Metal and Water periods, greatly noble. Earth Dragon (戊辰) day at the Water Dog hour: hour and day clash together — grief over wife and children; where Earth (土) is thick, greatly noble. A Rabbit (卯) month with Fire and Metal periods, middling nobility. Tiger, Monkey, Dog and Ox running a southwestern period, extremely noble. Earth Horse (戊午) day at the Water Dog hour: born in Tiger, Horse or Dog months, with much Fire in hour and year, read as Direct Resource (印绶) — solitude and harm are not escaped, hard first and easy after; if not noble then wealthy. A Rabbit month, the officer star checking the blade, favourable. Earth Monkey (戊申) day at the Water Dog hour: spring noble, summer middling, autumn wealth and rank, winter ordinary. Earth Dog (戊戌) day at the Water Dog hour: autumn, wealth and rank. Summer with a western period; spring with a northern period; winter with a southern period — all noble. Dragon and Ox months, better still. Verse: the Water Dog hour, buried in the wealth vault — to open it, wait only for the key to come; the period running to ground where wealth and officer are produced and strong, wealth, rank and glory need not be guessed at. Verse: a Yang Earth hour meeting Water Dog — in the pillars Rabbit and Ox are the joy. Rat (子) and Dragon, Yin Wood (乙) nobility, wealth and officer conspicuous; going out to dwell, a high person keeps him company. The vault opened, he fills the room and takes the house; without a clash the rank of siblings is hard to complete. Poor first and rich after, matters come round whole — if not noble, the granary and chest are broad and full.

A Yang Earth (戊) day born at the Water Pig (癸亥) hour: transforming to Fire, with no Dog (戌) it wars in the country of Water; if Yin Wood (乙), Yang Metal (庚), Yin Fire (丁) and Ox (丑) are not seen, it turns instead into an officer destiny out of the ordinary. For a Yang Earth day at the Water Pig hour: Yang Earth binds Yin Water (癸) and transforms to Fire, but Fire is cut off at Pig (亥) and wars in the country of Water, so the image is not made — the person is emptily fine, mostly one of the nine streams and the arts, close to the noble, and it governs eye complaints. Yang Earth takes Yang Wood (甲) as its ghost and Yang Water (壬) and Yin Water as wealth; upon Pig the Yang Water is strong and produces the Yang Wood, and the Yang Earth's qi is cut off — money gathers and scatters. If at the head of the stems in year or month Yin Wood, Yin Fire and Yang Metal are seen strong, it is the nobility of the three marvels; carrying an Earth-qi month with the self strong, running Fire and Wood periods, favourable. Monkey (申) and Rat (子) in year or month with a southeastern period; Pig and Rabbit (卯) with a southern period — both noble. Snake (巳), Horse (午) and Goat (未) strong, greatly noble. Earth Tiger (戊寅) day at the Water Pig hour: born in Horse or Goat months, transforming to Fire and gathering into a frame — a high destiny. Spring, officer and Killings (煞) mixed together, warm and fed in clothing and the prosperity star (禄). Rooster (酉) and Ox in year or month, third grade in the capital halls. Earth Dog (戊戌) day at the Water Pig hour: Tiger, Rabbit, Horse, Snake, Ox, Dog and Pig in year or month with Yin Wood, Yang Metal or Yin Fire showing at the stems, pure, essential authority and rank; it should run Fire and Earth periods. Verse: Yang Earth and Yin Water transforming to Fire, born at the Pig hour — the setting light on rivers and lakes, dark and bright again; born in a Rabbit or Goat month the triad is favourable, and moving house and changing lodging he is certainly at peace. Verse: a Yang Earth day with Water Pig at the hour — the heavenly stems transforming to Fire is remarkable. Yin Wood, Yang Metal and Yin Fire strong are glad to suit it; it certainly governs a name and rank conspicuous.
